Kathy Crippen spent more than three decades teaching in Centerville City Schools. Now, she’s stepping forward to serve on the Centerville Board of Education, bringing a teacher’s perspective and a parent’s heart to every decision.

Her mission is clear: protect the strength of public education, support students and teachers, and build a school district that reflects the values and voices of our entire community.

Kathy’s journey with Centerville City Schools began in the classroom, where she dedicated her career to helping students grow in confidence, character, and academic achievement. Her connection runs even deeper—her own children attended Centerville Schools. After a life-changing event involving her son in 2013, the Centerville community showed up in full force to support her family.

Now, she’s ready to give back by continuing to advocate for students, families, and educators at the board level.

Priorities That Put Students First

Kathy will advocate to protect Centerville City Schools from the negative effects of federal and state funding cuts and voucher programs that divert resources away from our students.

Strong Public Schools:

Families deserve to know how decisions are made. Kathy will champion clear, consistent communication from the school board to the community.

Transparency that builds trust:

Meeting each student’s needs for learning:

Kathy will collaborate with district staff to understand the needs of all Centerville Students.  Her teaching experience allows for a unique perspective of what teachers and students need to be successful in the classroom and in life.
